LMS Energy is Australia’s largest emissions reducer and the national leader in biogas-to-energy and solar on landfill. LMS requires the services of a full-time or part-time Senior/Lead Mechanical Engineer in Prospect, South Australia.   

As part of our team, you will work closely with the Manager – Mechanical Engineering, taking a key role in the delivery of professional mechanical engineering solutions across areas such as pipe design, rotating plant, gas flows, structural and process flows applicable to gas conditioning and combustion. You will collaborate with cross-functional groups to ensure project schedules are achieved, engaging with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The role involves occasional interstate travel to support site operations and new projects. Strong communication and leadership skills along with a high level of technical aptitude are essential to drive team engagement and the delivery of key organisational outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver professional mechanical engineering work in areas of pipe design, rotating plant, gas flows, structural and process flows applicable to gas conditioning and combustion 

  • Plan and assign the modification of civil, mechanical and structural drawings such as P&ID’s, civil layouts & details, mechanical piping layouts & details, pipe support details and structural platform details 

  • Produce design concepts (in AutoCAD or equivalent 3D package) 

  • Review engineering designs from other engineers against established quality guidelines 

  • Ensure a high level of design compliance to relevant standards, codes and guidelines 

  • Prepare data sheets, instrumentation setting sheets, Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance instructions, Quality Assurance documentation and other relevant work procedures and documentation as required 

  • Prepare Scopes of Work, tender packs, engineering reports and Specifications 

  • Deliver and mentor others in operational support through implementing improvements, maintenance planning, troubleshooting and fault finding 

  • Co-ordinate gas compliance approval requirements for operational plant 

  • Design in accordance with hazardous area requirements and applicable Australian standards, codes and guidelines 

  • Conduct risk management, have a high degree of safety in designs, and role model use of organisational safety systems 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of professional mechanical engineering experience  

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering  

  • Knowledge and understanding of Industrial Processing, Power Generation, Gas, Renewable or Energy Industries   

  • Australian Drivers Licence 

  • Fitness for work to perform the job role safely and competently
