LMS Energy is Australia’s largest emissions reducer and the national leader in biogas-to-energy and solar on landfill. LMS requires the services of a full-time or part-time Senior Legal Counsel in Brisbane, QLD.

As part of our team, you will collaborate with the General Counsel where your role will primarily involve providing legal counsel and representation on matters related to LMS energy and commercial projects. Your expert communication skills and solutions-focused outlook will see you proactively manage key legal relationships to ensure LMS complies with its legal obligations and maximises corporate opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide and/or coordinate legal services to stakeholders in relation to the joint venture, contractual, title, regulatory and commercial issues arising within LMS.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contractual arrangements including commercial, infrastructure, design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of contracts.
  • Provide legal input into LMS’ risk management processes (including identification and proposals relating to mitigation of risks).
  • Monitor the development of changes to the legislative and common law framework under which LMS operates and prepare advisory notes to management and staff and submissions to external stakeholders on behalf of LMS as required.
  • Advocate or give presentations on LMS’ position on matters of legal significance in various forums as required

Requirements:

  • Current and valid Australian practicing certificate
  • A Bachelor or Masters degree in law 
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of practical legal experience 
  • Some interstate travel required 
  • Australian Drivers Licence
