
LMS Energy is Australia’s largest emissions reducer and the national leader in biogas-to-energy and solar on landfill. LMS requires the services of a full-time or part-time Health and Safety Specialist (Construction) in New South Wales.
As part of our team, you will collaborate with the Group Manager – Health & Safety where your role will primarily involve applying a risk management approach to support the business through design workshops, mobilisation and delivery of construction projects.

Responsibilities:

Facilitate construction health and safety risk workshops with internal and external stakeholders to develop project specific risk registers

Develop and review Construction Safety Management Plans to support all project phases, while addressing project specific risks

Undertake readiness reviews to support project mobilisation and assurance activities throughout

Provide onsite technical support to ensure legislative compliance across all jurisdictions during construction activities

Support the development of project/construction health and safety systems and processes

Support the project team to maintain health and safety data for weekly reporting on the effective closeout of audit actions, incident actions, improvement opportunities and non-conformances.

Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Support the business to undertake internal health and safety investigations (5-why, ICAM) and promote a culture of lessons learnt

Coach and mentor project leadership team on WHS matters, legislative requirements, organisational procedures and processes, and best practice principles

Work collaboratively within a broader Health & Safety Team and LMS management

Provide health and safety support to business operational teams when projects are not being undertaken
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of high-risk construction experience
- Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety or related discipline, or Cert IV Workplace Health & Safety
- Knowledge and understanding of Power Generation, Gas, Renewable or Energy Industries
- AIHS certification and confined space training (highly desirable)
- Mandatory training in Working at Heights and White Card
- ICAM (or similar) incident investigation training is required.
- Lead Auditor certification in OHS Management Systems is required.
- Australian Drivers Licence
