LMS Energy is Australia’s largest emissions reducer and the national leader in biogas-to-energy and solar on landfill. LMS requires the services of a full-time or part-time Junior Lawyer in Unley, South Australia.  

As part of our team, you will work closely with the Senior Legal Counsel, providing support across a broad range of legal functions. Your role will primarily involve assisting with the review, drafting, and negotiation of commercial contracts, supporting corporate transactions, contributing to governance and compliance activities, and helping improve internal legal processes and templates. You will also gain exposure to regulatory and compliance matters, company secretarial duties, and managing external legal counsel. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated lawyer looking to kick-off an in-house legal career in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts
  • Support corporate transactions, including joint ventures, project investments, and mergers and acquisitions
  • Provide guidance on company governance, board documentation, and maintain statutory registers
  • Support compliance with regulatory obligations, including WHS, privacy, and modern slavery reporting
  • Coordinate and manage external legal counsel when required
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of legal templates, processes, and matter management tools
  • Stay up to date with legal and regulatory developments relevant to LMS’ business
  • Provide general legal support across the business as required. 

Requirements:

  • Completed Bachelor of Law with a current practicing certificate
  • 1–2 years of experience in private practice or in-house legal role 
  • Experience in contracts, or in litigation, corporate, or property law
  • Commerce or business degree and/or experience at an accounting firm are highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of contract law and willingness to learn under supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
  • Australian Drivers Licence
