LMS Energy is Australia’s largest emissions reducer and the national leader in biogas-to-energy and solar on landfill. LMS requires the services of a full-time or part-time, 12-month fixed term contract, Business Analyst in Unley, South Australia  

As part of our team, you’ll work alongside the General Manager – Joint Ventures, providing valuable support to help LMS meet its financial, operational, and governance commitments under an exciting new national joint venture with a top-tier client. This role offers the chance to broaden your experience across financial analysis, compliance, governance, and stakeholder engagement, while contributing insights that support decision-making across multiple sites. By connecting our Joint Venture obligations with our corporate functions, you’ll play an important part in strengthening processes, supporting growth, and delivering positive outcomes for our partnerships.

Responsibilities: 

  • Review and track financial performance against P&L and cashflow budgets across joint ventures. 

  • Develop and implement data collation, reporting, and analysis to ensure contractual and financial obligations are met. 

  • Identify and address gaps against contractual and financial targets, proposing corrective action plans. 

  • Assist with invoice preparation, validation, and dispute resolution, including recipient-created tax invoices. 

  • Support KPI incentive and deduction regimes with accurate calculation and documentation. 

  • Prepare mitigation or rectification plans for KPI failures and track outcomes. 

  • Support development and monitoring of OPEX, CAPEX, and business growth budgets. 

  • Act as the liaison between the General Manager Joint Venture and corporate functions (finance, legal, environment, compliance, safety). 

  • Collate, analyse and report on risk, safety, environment, compliance, and procurement across JV sites. 

  • Produce JV Board and Committee Reports, agendas, and minutes, and governance documentation. 

  • Strengthen governance frameworks, reporting processes, and decision-making tools. 

  • Support contract management and compliance with JV Agreements and legal obligations. 

Requirements: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, information systems or a related field. 

  • Proven experience as a business analyst, ideally in infrastructure, energy, or waste management sectors. 

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with ability to interpret P&L, forecasting and performance data into actionable insights. 

  • Experience in budget preparation, financial analysis, and variance reporting. 

  • High-level analytical, reporting, and documentation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Demonstrated corporate governance, reporting, and board/committee support experience. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in presenting to senior leadership and governance forums. 

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and represent LMS internally and externally. 

  • Australian Drivers Licence
