LMS Energy is Australia’s largest emissions reducer and the national leader in biogas-to-energy and solar on landfill. LMS requires the services of a full-time or part-time Senior Control Systems Engineer in Yatala Queensland. 

As a key member of our team, you'll work across the full lifecycle of control systems for complex and innovative bioenergy projects. From initial design to commissioning, you'll contribute technical expertise and help shape systems that support LMS' growing portfolio of Agwaste, landfill gas and renewable energy assets. The role offers hands-on experience across multiple platforms, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and potential opportunities for project support overseas.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, program and commission automation and control systems using Allen-Bradley Logix processors and Citect SCADA

  • Maintain and optimise control systems across platforms including Siemens S7, Red Lion, and legacy Allen-Bradley (Logix and SLC500)

  • Develop and manage communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, HART, CANbus, and associated HMI systems

  • Apply electrical engineering knowledge to power distribution, control schematics, protection systems, VFD configuration, and network communications

  • Prepare and maintain documentation including I/O lists, specifications, control philosophies, and scopes of work

  • Provide technical support to operations including troubleshooting, fault finding, and driving continuous improvement

  • Coordinate and oversee contractors during installation and commissioning to ensure quality, compliance, and safety

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent technical experience 

  • A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing, integrating, testing and commissioning PLC-based automation and control systems 

  • Proficient with Rockwell Automation Studio5000 / RSLogix500 software and Citect SCADA 

  • Experience in FAT and SAT  

  • Strong technical skills in PLC and RTU programming  

  • Effective organisational and time management capabilities with a keen focus on detail 

  • Australian Drivers Licence
